Tucker genannt. Er hat viele Jahre als Filmvorführer in
Bloomington, IL, gearbeitet und war nicht nur durch seine
Romane, sondern auch durch seine SF-Vermittlerarbeit
bekannt. Beispielsweise durch den SF-Überblick Neo-Fan's
Guide To Science Fiction Fandom , den er von 1955 bis 1996
mehrmals herausgab. Sein Roman
1941 schrieb Tucker in seinem Fanzine Le Zombie
Nr. 36: SUGGESTION DEPT: In these hectice days of
phrase-coining, we offer one. Westerns are called "horse
operas", the morning house wife tear-jerkers are called "soap
operas". For the hacky, grinding, stinking, outworn space-ship
yarn, or world-saving for that matter, we offer "space
opera"
